Client: Eidsvoll kommune
Agency: Kikkut kommunikasjon
My role: Lead designer, visual identity
Year: 2021/22
History
Eidsvoll has historically been an important traffic hub. Both to water and across Mjøsisen, the Oslo Fjord has been connected to Gudbrandsdalen and the rest of the Mjøs region. In 1854, Norway's first railway, Hovedbanen, was opened on the Oslo-Eidsvoll section and carried on to Hamar in 1880.
Coat of arms
The municipal coat of arms is designed by Bjørn Sigurd Østern and was approved in 1987. Over the years, it's been modernized and adjusted several times to digital standards.
I redesigned the new version of the coat of arms, with the goal of stating it back to its original design, while still being suitable for digital display.
Eidsvoll as an historical traffic hub has also been the inspiration for the design. The graphic element is based on the main road network in Eidsvoll municipality and is consistent in the visual concept: We'll meet in Eidsvoll.
